[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) company #S2W Inc. announced on the 22nd that it has joined the FIDO Alliance, a global organization for standardizing online authentication.
The FIDO Alliance is a global consortium aimed at reducing reliance on passwords and promoting the adoption of authentication systems that are resilient to phishing attacks. It develops and promotes standards for passkeys based on public-key cryptography and next-generation multi-factor authentication (MFA) technologies. Major global technology companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Google, as well as government agencies and financial institutions, are members.
With this membership, S2W Inc. plans to strengthen its capabilities for detecting and analyzing new types of cyber threats targeting passkey-based authentication environments by leveraging its own cyber threat intelligence (CTI) technology.
The company intends to track evolving attack techniques—such as session hijacking, exploitation of account recovery procedures, and manipulation of device registration—based on dark web monitoring, and provide threat intelligence across the entire authentication ecosystem. It also plans to contribute to the establishment of a zero-trust security environment based on insights into changes in the cybercrime ecosystem.
Andrew Shikier, CEO of the FIDO Alliance, stated, “As the adoption of passkeys expands, the ability to proactively identify and respond to new attack techniques is becoming increasingly important,” adding, “We expect S2W’s threat intelligence expertise to make a meaningful contribution to the FIDO community.”
Seo Sang-deok, CEO of S2W Inc., said, “By combining FIDO’s standardized authentication framework with S2W Inc.’s CTI technology, we will enhance the security of passwordless authentication environments.” He added, “We will collaborate with global member companies to advance our response systems against emerging threats and contribute to the development of the zero-trust security model.”
