Hair Loss Treatment Stocks Rise in Unison… Government Seeks Public Opinion on National Health Insurance Coverage [Featured Stocks]

[Edaily Reporter Hyera Lee ] Stocks related to hair loss treatment, such as INNOGENE Co., Ltd. and TS Trillion Co., Ltd., are rising in tandem early in the trading session.
According to MP Doctor on the 22nd, INNOGENE Co., Ltd.(344860)was trading at 1,542 won as of 9:16 a.m. today, up 5.98% from the previous trading day. TS Trillion Co., Ltd.(317240)was trading at 972 won at the same time, up 1.78%.
This surge in buying interest is believed to be driven by renewed attention on the issue following news that the government will hold a policy forum to gather public opinion, as controversy grows over whether hair loss treatments should be covered by national health insurance.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Health and Welfare will hold a public forum titled “Everyone’s Forum” on the 4th of next month to feature expert presentations on the inclusion of hair loss treatments in the national health insurance coverage and to gather public opinion.
The government is considering expanding health insurance coverage for hair loss treatments in the second half of the year, with a focus on young adults. Previously, in December of last year, while receiving a work report from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, President Lee Jae-myung stated, “(Hair loss) used to be considered a cosmetic issue, but these days it seems to be viewed as a matter of survival,” and instructed officials to review the possibility of including hair loss treatments under health insurance.
As critics continue to argue that the National Health Insurance budget should be focused on alleviating the financial burden of treatment for critically ill patients and maintaining essential medical services, volatility in related stocks is likely to persist.
