[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] SelectStar (CEO Kim Se-yeop), a company specializing in AI data and reliability assessment, has been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “Dynamic Innovation Project for Startups (DIPS).”
SelectStar held a plaque presentation ceremony for the project at its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 19th. Kim Woo-soon, Commissioner of the Seoul Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, attended the event to present the plaque and was briefed on the company’s key technologies and current business status.
The “Ultra-Leapfrog Startup Project” is a Ministry of SMEs and Startups initiative that selects startups in the deep tech sector—which will lead the future of the national economy—to provide funding for technology commercialization and research and development (R&D) support, with the goal of nurturing them into global unicorn companies. Selected companies will receive up to 600 million won in technology commercialization funding over a maximum period of three years.

SelectStar plans to use this selection as an opportunity to accelerate the advancement and business expansion of its AI reliability evaluation platform, the “Datumo Platform.”
The “Datumo Platform” is a one-stop AI reliability verification solution that integrates quality evaluation, red teaming for safety verification, and observability functions for AI services. It is characterized by providing the verification framework necessary throughout the entire process of AI adoption and operation by companies on a single platform.
Amid growing demand for large language model (LLM) verification, particularly among big tech companies and the financial sector, SelectStar plans to continuously incorporate evaluation and verification standards into its platform in response to the enforcement of the Framework Act on Artificial Intelligence and the trend toward stricter global regulations, while also accelerating its entry into the global market.
Additionally, SelectStar supported the implementation of AI technology and reliability verification at the AI interactive exhibition “Baby Shark’s Secret Invitation: Becoming Shark,” which opened on the 18th at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, and showcased use cases of the Datumo platform in the content and IP sectors for the first time. The company plans to expand its scope of application across various industries based on this initiative.
Hwang Min-young, Deputy CEO of SelectStar, stated, “Being selected as a ‘Leapfrog Startup’ is a recognition of the AI reliability evaluation expertise we have accumulated over the years,” adding, “Building on this support, we will further enhance the Datumo platform and begin a full-scale push into the global AI reliability verification market beyond Korea.”
SelectStar provides services that support the entire AI development lifecycle, from data design and construction to reliability assessment and red teaming. The company is currently participating in the government’s “Independent AI Foundation Model” project in collaboration with the SKT consortium.
