[Edaily Reporter Hyera Lee ] #CLOBOT Co., Ltd announced on the 23rd that it has signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with DOOSAN to acquire DOOSAN Logistics Solutions (DLS), a company specializing in logistics automation. The transaction is expected to close in September.
Through this acquisition, CLOBOT Co., Ltd plans to integrate its Robot Control System (RCS) with DLS’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) to build a turnkey solution covering the entire logistics automation process.
DLS is a company that has executed large-scale logistics automation projects for clients such as Nike and Daiso. Last year, it recorded approximately 67 billion won in revenue and a net operating profit, and it expects revenue of approximately 100 billion won this year. It has also secured an order backlog equivalent to two years’ worth of business.
Following the completion of the acquisition, CLOBOT Co., Ltd plans to reflect DLS’s financial results in its consolidated financial statements starting in the fourth quarter of this year. Synergies from the integrated sales efforts of both companies are expected to take full effect starting next year, and the impact of new orders is expected to become visible after 2028.
The company plans to expand its business scope into the manufacturing automation market by combining DLS’s logistics system implementation capabilities with its own robot control and Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) technologies. Its strategy also includes strengthening its competitiveness in the Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS), Physical AI, and humanoid robot markets.
CLOBOT Co., Ltd established a local subsidiary in Delaware, U.S., last May and plans to accelerate its expansion into the North American market based on this acquisition.
Kim Chang-gu, CEO of CLOBOT Co., Ltd., said, “The acquisition of DLS will serve as a stepping stone for us to become a full-value-chain company providing the entire logistics automation process,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the global robot operation and management market in the era of physical AI.”
