According to his agency,
Geonum Planning
, on the 25th, Kim Gun-mo will release a single featuring his new song “Where Am I Headed?” via various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 1st of next month. This marks Kim Gun-mo’s first new release in about 10 years, following his 2016 25th-anniversary album “50.”
Previously, Kim Gun-mo had completely suspended his activities after being accused of sexual assault by a woman identified as Ms. A in 2019. At the time, Ms. A alleged that Kim Gun-mo had sexually assaulted her at a bar in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in 2016.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, which investigated the case, concluded in November 2021 that the allegations were not substantiated and decided not to indict him. Ms. A filed an appeal, but the Seoul High Prosecutors’ Office again decided not to indict him.

After a long hiatus, Kim Gun-mo resumed his music career through a nationwide concert tour held from September of last year through March of this year in cities including Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, and Seoul. On stage during the tour, Kim Gun-mo stated, “I will prepare a new album with the mindset of making my debut all over again.”
His new song, “Where Am I Going?”, is a remake of the song of the same name released by Jeon Young in 1977.
An agency representative said, “Kim Gun-mo temporarily set aside his familiar image as ‘Kim Gun-mo, the pianist’ and sang while playing the guitar himself,” adding, “This song will mark the second starting point of Kim Gun-mo’s musical career.”
