Dexter studios Co., Ltd.(206560)announced on the 26th that it will participate in the “Development of Mind Prompting Agent Technology Linked to Brainwaves” project, led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Planning & Evaluation.
This project aims to develop a “Mind Prompting” interface that directly interprets and structures a person’s intent to create content from brainwave signals, and to develop an AI agent for video creation utilizing this technology. The core objective is to build a system capable of instantly generating 2K-resolution images and videos based on brainwave data, while enabling gradual revisions and edits through “multi-turn” dialogue. “Multi-turn” dialogue refers to a form of conversation that allows for continuous dialogue that reflects the context of previous exchanges.
The current environment for producing video content using generative AI relies entirely on text prompts or physical input devices, which has the limitation that the images creators envision in their minds can become distorted or lost during the process of converting them into text. This structure significantly reduces production efficiency due to the repeated cycle of unnecessary prompting and revision required to achieve the intended result. This is why there is a need to develop an intuitive interactive interface capable of instantly bringing a creator’s imagination to life in the digital space.
The Dexter Consortium has decided to build a dataset infrastructure by acquiring large-scale brainwave data in various formats from human visual stimuli and imaginative environments, and to develop “Brain-to-Vector” technology that separates representation and meaning from brainwave signals, converting images and videos into sets of numbers that AI can understand. This will enable AI to rapidly reproduce the abstract images a director conceives in their mind—during the planning stage of content such as movies or dramas—as storyboard-style images and videos based solely on EEG analysis, without the need for separate text input.
Dexter studios Co., Ltd. plans to lead a pilot program applying the developed “Mind Prompting” technology directly to commercial content production processes—such as pre-visualization (pre-viz)—to verify the technology’s maturity and establish technical guidelines applicable to the commercial content production market.
Song Jae-won, Director of Dexter studios Co., Ltd.’s R&D Institute, said, “We expect to dramatically reduce the time and resources required for production through a paradigm shift in content creation centered on mental imagery, where thoughts become content.” He added, “We will secure strong technological leadership in the global visual effects market while simultaneously pioneering new frontiers in next-generation devices and production environments.”
