OTOKI Holds Awards Ceremony for Illustration Contest

5,814 participants Exhibition of Award-Winning Works

[Edaily Reporter SIN SOO-JUNG ] Ottogi(007310)announced on the 29th that it held the awards ceremony for the 4th OTOKI Illustration Contest on the 26th at Ham Tae-ho Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

This year’s contest was themed around OTOKI Ketchup, which celebrated its 55th anniversary, and “Yellow,” OTOKI’s brand color. A total of 5,814 people participated from March 23 to April 3. This represents an increase of about 600 participants compared to the previous year.

The contest was divided into three categories: General, Teen, and Children. OTOKI selected a total of 213 winners through two rounds of judging. The Daesang winner received 5 million won, the two Daesang winners in each category received 2 million won each, and the two Excellence Prize winners received 1 million won each. The 200 recipients of the Sweet Home Award were each given 50,000 won in OTOKI Mall loyalty points.

The Daesang was awarded to artist Jo Yoon-jin for her work “Red Habit,” which captures everyday life. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s *Campbell’s Soup Cans*, this work reimagines OTOKI’s restaurant-grade ketchup product using packing tape. The artist interpreted the ketchup she encountered daily while working part-time as both a scene from everyday life and a habit, expressing the texture of the ketchup and the accumulation of time through the surface created by layers of multicolored tape.

The Grand Prize in the General Category was awarded to *Always in the Same Place* by artist Kwon I-mir-jin and *OTOKI KETCHUP FESTIVAL* by artist Choi Woo-young. The Grand Prize in the Youth Division was awarded to *Red Memories in the Refrigerator* by Lee Da-eun and *55 Years: Time Piled Up on the Dining Table* by Im Jae-i. The Grand Prize in the Children’s Division went to *55 Years of Ketchup: Blooming on the Stage* by Kim Yeon-seo and *Warm Yellow That Makes You Forget the Cold* by Lee Ye-ju.

The winning works will be on display in the pop-up zone on the second floor of Ham Tae-ho Hall until July 26. A series of four works by Daesang winner Jo Yun-jin, created on the theme of the evolution of OTOKI Ketchup, will also be unveiled.

An OTOKI representative stated, “This contest respected the diverse expressive techniques of illustration, and the judging focused on how participants depicted OTOKI products through their own unique perspectives,” adding, “We will continue to engage in creative activities with our consumers so that OTOKI products can evolve into a medium of art that connects people, spaces, and time within daily life and the home.”
