Autocrypt Co., Ltd. announced on the 29th that a government R&D project it carried out was selected as one of the “Top 20 Outstanding Land, Infrastructure, and Transport R&D Achievements” at the “2026 Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Technology Expo” hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

The “Top 20 Land, Infrastructure, and Transport R&D Achievements” is a program that selects projects from the land, infrastructure, and transport R&D sector that demonstrate outstanding technical sophistication and significant industrial and social impact.

The selected project, “Development of Integrated Automotive Security Safety Assessment Technology,” was led by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority’s Automotive Safety Research Institute (KATRI) and was recognized for its achievements in developing an international-standard automotive cybersecurity safety management system and assessment technology.

During the research process, Autocrypt Co., Ltd. filed 21 domestic and international patent applications and registered 15 of them; it also secured four overseas patents, including a Triadic Patent Family, in major markets such as the United States, Europe, and Japan. The company explained that this demonstrates the global competitiveness of its domestically developed core automotive cybersecurity technology.

One of the key achievements is a technology that detects hacking attacks occurring on the vehicle’s internal communication network (CAN bus) and analyzes abnormal communication patterns. The company secured a European patent for this technology and developed core technology that identifies security threats by analyzing signs of anomalies in the vehicle’s internal communication network.

This research is also significant in that it established a real-vehicle-based testing and evaluation system, achieving a level of technological maturity just prior to commercialization. This has laid the groundwork for automakers and parts suppliers to verify and apply security technologies during the actual vehicle development process, and is expected to contribute to strengthening the company’s capacity to comply with UNECE WP.29, the global automotive cybersecurity regulation.

Recently, the company has been expanding its business into the field of physical AI security, covering areas such as robotics, defense, and bio-healthcare.
