[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] LG Display has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 67% compared to 2018 levels through investments in eco-friendly facilities and production innovations based on Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX). LG Display announced on the 30th that it has published its “2026 ESG Report,” which details these achievements. Now in its 15th edition, the report outlines key achievements and future strategies in the areas of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G).

In the environmental sector, the company focused on strengthening its climate response capabilities. By expanding investment in eco-friendly facilities and optimizing facility operations based on AX technology, it reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 67% compared to 2018. This significantly exceeds the 53% reduction target set for 2030.

The system for managing the environmental impact of products was also further refined. A new IT system was introduced for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)—which evaluates the environmental impact across the entire product lifecycle, from raw material procurement through production, use, and disposal—to improve the accuracy of data collection and analysis. Last year, the scope of assessment was expanded to cover 68% of all products sold.

In the social sector, the company focused on strengthening the ESG competitiveness of its business partners. It conducted training on the “ESG Supply Chain Code of Conduct” for business partners and operated various win-win programs—including financial and technological cooperation as well as healthcare and welfare initiatives—to enhance sustainability across the entire supply chain. The company explained that through these efforts, it is also working to foster a win-win ecosystem among first-, second-, and third-tier business partners.

In the corporate governance sector, the company advanced its compliance management system by improving whistleblowing procedures to expand the scope of internal reporting. Furthermore, reflecting the growing importance of information security in the business environment, the company newly designated information security as a core ESG management area and strengthened its related management systems.

Based on these achievements, LG Display has been included in S&P Global’s Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Asia-Pacific for three consecutive years and has earned the top “Platinum” rating in the sustainability assessment by global ESG rating agency EcoVadis for two consecutive years.
