‘Toy Story 5’ Holds Steady at No. 1 for 14th Consecutive Day… Cumulative Attendance Reaches 1.7 Million

Racing to the Top in Box Office and Ticket Pre-sales New 'Marty Supreme' Film Draws Attention

[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Disney·Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” has firmly held onto the No. 1 spot at the box office for the 14th consecutive day, despite competition from other films. Having surpassed 1.7 million cumulative viewers, the film continues to enjoy a steady, albeit gradual, box office run.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 1st, “Toy Story 5” retained the top spot at the box office on the 30th of last month, drawing 42,011 viewers. Its cumulative audience stands at 1,700,047.
“The Eye” took second place. It drew 39,317 viewers that day, bringing its cumulative total to 383,039 and continuing its strong performance in its opening week. Next, “The Swarm” added 15,821 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 5,744,246 and continuing its long-running success.
“Wild Thing” ranked fourth, drawing 10,151 viewers, and its cumulative total rose to 1,253,613. “Supergirl” came in fifth.
In terms of advance ticket sales, “Toy Story 5” maintained its No. 1 position, continuing its box office momentum. It was followed by “The Eye,” “Marty Supreme” (which opened that day), and “Greenland 2: Migration.”
The film industry expects “Toy Story 5” to continue its steady box office performance for the time being. However, with “Marty Supreme” opening today and launching a full-scale push to attract audiences, attention is focused on whether this will bring changes to the box office landscape. In particular, as “Toy Story 5” continues to draw a steady audience, primarily from the family demographic, the key point of interest in this week’s box office will be how well new releases targeting adult audiences can boost box office performance.
