CJ ENM’s Hong Kong subsidiary announced on the 1st that, starting on the 2nd, it will release all episodes of six Thai dramas produced by its local joint venture, True CJ Creations, via India’s ad-supported free online video service (OTT/AVOD) platform, “Amazon MX Player.” The lineup includes “Good Doctor” and “Dear My Secretary,” both based on original Korean series that garnered significant attention in Korea, as well as “Signal (23:23),” “Start-Up,” “Happiness,” and “Black Dog (Thank You Teacher).”
The six Thai drama series to be distributed on Amazon MX Player will be provided with English subtitles and Hindi dubbing, taking into account India’s diverse viewing environments and cultural characteristics.
Regarding this collaboration, CJ ENM stated, “This is a meaningful step that builds on the strong partnership established last year through the supply of 18 K-content titles, and we expect it to serve as a key catalyst for accelerating the global expansion of content based on Korean IP,” adding “In particular, the lineup—which spans a wide range of genres from romance to thrillers and sci-fi—is regarded as a case that goes beyond a simple licensing agreement, simultaneously demonstrating the outstanding scalability of Korean IP and the global competitiveness of Thai content that transcends cultural barriers,” the company added.
A representative from CJ ENM’s Hong Kong subsidiary stated, “As demand for Asian entertainment continues to grow in the global market, we have been pursuing multifaceted content collaborations—including strategic partnerships and format localization—to keep pace with this trend,” adding, “We will continue to devote our full efforts to creating new opportunities targeting the global market by combining Korea’s mega-hit IP with Southeast Asia’s excellent storytelling.”
Meanwhile, True CJ Creations is a local joint venture established by True Vision, Thailand’s largest integrated media company, and CJ ENM. The company produces content within Thailand.
