[Edaily Reporter Hong Ju-yeon ] People & Technology, a smart hospital solutions provider, announced on the 1st that it has partnered with Donga ST(170900)to implement a real-time patient monitoring solution at Gunpo St. Mary’s Hospital in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province. Through this implementation, Gunpo Seongmo Hospital will collect key vital data—such as electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart rate—in real time via the “HiCardi+,” a wearable ECG device worn by patients. The collected data allows staff to monitor patients’ conditions in real time through the ward’s central monitoring system, and immediate alerts are sent if any abnormal signs are detected.

According to People & Technology, this implementation has created an environment where the condition of hospitalized patients can be monitored 24 hours a day in real time, enabling a swift response even in emergency situations. By wearing wireless wearable devices, patients experience fewer restrictions on their activities, leading to a higher quality of recovery, while medical staff are relieved of the burden of managing equipment and can focus more on patient care.

Dr. Lim Jae-soo, President of Gunpo St. Mary’s Hospital, stated, “We needed a system that would allow us to manage the condition of inpatients in a more systematic and safe manner,” adding, “We expect that the introduction of this real-time patient monitoring solution will assist medical staff in their decision-making while simultaneously enhancing patient safety and trust.”

Hong Seong-pyo, CEO of People & Technology, remarked, “This implementation at Gunpo Seongmo Hospital will serve as a model demonstrating that even regional hub hospitals can achieve a high-quality smart hospital environment,” adding, “We will drive tangible changes in digital transformation to enable more hospitals to transition to smart hospitals.”
