[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] The Coupang Play series “It’s Not About the Affair Right Now” has confirmed its release on the 31st.
“It’s Not About the Affair Right Now” (It’s Not About the Affair) is a runaway black comedy about a chain reaction of chaos that ensues when a popular influencer couple—who have been selling the image of a happy family—and a neighboring doctor couple—currently embroiled in a messy divorce battle—become entangled in an unmanageable secret that makes even an affair seem trivial.
The teaser poster, released on the 2nd, captivates viewers by artfully capturing the glamorous daily life of “Kyung-hee” (Kim Hye-soo)—an influencer who projects a perfect family—against the backdrop of a peaceful, upscale residential neighborhood, while also hinting at the cracks hidden beneath the surface. Dressed in vibrant outfits and holding a selfie stick with a relaxed smile, “Kyung-hee” appears serene, seemingly unaware of the impending catastrophe that will turn everything upside down, creating a peculiar sense of tension.
The scenes glimpsed through the mansion’s windows behind her symbolically foreshadow the events to come. The silhouettes of a man and woman embracing tenderly, a man pressing his ear against the wall in front of a broken family photo, and two girls standing hand in hand reveal the hidden anxieties and secrets within a seemingly perfect daily life, heightening curiosity.
The cast includes Kim Hye-soo as “Kyung-hee,” a self-made influencer; Jo Yeo-jeong as “Su-jeong,” an elegant and refined dermatologist; Kim Ji-hoon as “Jae-hong,” a younger husband who captivates “Kyung-hee” with his affable and sexy charm; and Kim Jae-cheol as “Bo-sung,” a somewhat mysterious man currently in the midst of a divorce lawsuit with “Su-jeong.”
Director Lee Chang-hee, known for *The Murderer: A Dilemma* and *Stranger Is Hell*, is at the helm. First Man Studio, the production company behind *Squid Game*, is also involved in the production. Director Lee Chang-hee’s “Killer: A Difficult Case” garnered attention both domestically and internationally for its unpredictable plot twists and suspenseful direction. As this is his latest work, “Adultery Now” is also drawing significant interest.
“Adultery Now” will premiere on Coupang Play on the 31st.
