EGTRONICS Co., Ltd. announced on the 2nd that it will supply a power conversion solution—integrating an 11kW on-board charger (OBC) and a 3kW low-voltage DC-DC converter (LDC)—to a mass-production platform for autonomous vehicles. This product is characterized by integrating charging and low-voltage power supply functions into a single system, thereby maximizing in-vehicle space utilization and simplifying the wiring structure. The product ensures stable performance across various driving environments by achieving OBC efficiency of up to 96%, an IP69K protection rating, and a liquid-cooled system. It also supports integrated control via CAN communication with the vehicle’s control unit and enhances reliability by incorporating automotive cybersecurity requirements. This supply is significant as it marks the first instance of applying a core power conversion system for autonomous vehicles to a mass-production platform. Autonomous vehicles require a more stable power supply and higher system reliability compared to conventional electric vehicles, underscoring the growing importance of high-efficiency power conversion technology. Company A is currently operating demonstration projects and commercial services based on domestic autonomous driving technology and is reportedly expanding its business into overseas markets such as Singapore and the Middle East. This supply agreement is expected to pave the way for additional orders in the future. EGTRONICS Co., Ltd.’s strategy is to cultivate the autonomous driving and electrification markets as core growth pillars, leveraging the technological expertise it has accumulated in electric vehicle chargers, power conversion devices, and defense power supplies. The company also plans to expand its supply to global autonomous driving platforms in the future. A company official stated, “Power stability and system reliability are key factors for autonomous vehicles,” adding, “This supply contract demonstrates our technological competitiveness in the autonomous driving platform sector.” The official continued, “We will continue to pursue technological advancement, customer expansion, and global expansion, focusing on the next-generation electrification and autonomous driving markets.”
