As the mothers personally introduce their daughters, the participants’ exceptional credentials—ranging from a traditional Korean medicine doctor to an employee at S Electronics—will be unveiled.
When a traditional Korean medicine doctor—a profession highly favored by the mothers—appears, gasps of admiration erupt from all corners, eventually giving way to a round of applause. A barrage of questions follows, covering everything from preferred professions and ideal types to whether they currently have a crush on anyone.
Meanwhile, one mother captures everyone’s attention by making a special pledge. “I’ll do my best to help with childcare,” she says, actively promising support in the style of a mother-in-law. In response, the mothers of the male participants are surprised, exclaiming, “That’s perfect,” and “Childcare is really an important part of it.”
As the men’s mothers select the women they’d like their sons to date, Lee Yo-won predicts, “The mothers will probably prefer professional Korean medicine doctors,” while Seo Jang-hoon prophesies, “Three votes will definitely go to the Korean medicine doctor,” drawing attention to the outcome. SBS’s “The Child Release Project: Group Blind Date 2” is a program in which 10 single men and women looking to get married, along with their 10 mothers, stay together for five nights and six days, working toward the single goal of “marriage.” Building on the popularity of Season 1, a second season was produced.
