[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Global fintech company KONA I CO.,LTD.(052400)announced on the 2nd that the cumulative conversion amount for the “NH Point Local Currency Conversion Service,” which it operates in partnership with NH Nonghyup Bank, has reached 2,219,560,000 won.
To date, these results come from the Gyeonggi Regional Currency and Incheon e-Eum programs, with 1,255,050,000 won recorded for the Gyeonggi Regional Currency and 964,510,000 won for Incheon e-Eum. KONA I CO.,LTD. and NH Nonghyup Bank signed a business agreement in 2022 and have since developed a service that allows “NH Points”—the integrated points system for NH Members—to be converted into local currency credit on the “Local Love Gift Certificate” app operated by KONA I CO.,LTD.
KONA I CO.,LTD. has also resumed its partnership with KB Kookmin Card. Last month, it signed a business partnership agreement with KB Kookmin Card for point conversion and launched a service allowing users to convert “KB Pointri” into local currency for use on 18 local currency apps, including Cheonan Sarang Card and Gyeongju Pay.
Users can convert points starting from 10 Pointree up to a maximum of 100,000 Pointree per month into local currency, with each point worth 1 won.
KONA I CO.,LTD. plans to expand its conversion services in the second half of the year to include not only financial company points but also environmental points, local government “City Points,” and Naver Points, thereby enhancing the utility of its local currency platform.
Cho Jung-il, CEO of KONA I CO.,LTD., stated, “The fact that over 2.2 billion won in financial points have been converted into local consumption through the Gyeonggi Regional Currency and Incheon e-Eum alone demonstrates that dormant points can contribute to the local economic cycle.” He added, “We will continue to expand our partnerships with local governments to build a regional currency ecosystem that residents can truly experience.”
