[Edaily Reporter SIN SOO-JUNG ] NamyangDairyProducts(003920)has reportedly achieved double-digit reductions in both greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption last year. NamyangDairyProducts announced on the 3rd, through its 2025 ESG report, that its greenhouse gas emissions last year decreased by 13% compared to the previous year. The reduction amounted to 10,267 tCO₂-eq. During the same period, energy consumption fell by 10%, representing a reduction of 198 TJ.
Waste generation also decreased by 10% compared to the previous year. The reduction amounted to 1,049 metric tons. NamyangDairyProducts explained that measures such as streamlining production systems, replacing factory equipment, and introducing high-efficiency devices contributed to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.
Led by its ESG Management Committee, NamyangDairyProducts manages the operation of production facilities, environmental management, and energy conservation activities through environmental teams at its five factories nationwide. Last year, the company exceeded its annual reduction targets for greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption by 18% and 17%, respectively.
The company has also expanded its eco-friendly policies in the product packaging sector. Last year, 42 major products, including fermented milk and coffee, received an “A” grade in sustainability certification from the Korea Packaging Recycling Cooperative. The company also adopted label-free packaging for its bottled natural water.
The company is also continuing its social contribution activities. NamyangDairyProducts is expanding its product donations—including milk and fermented milk products—to vulnerable groups such as infants, young children, adolescents, and elderly people living alone. In partnership with World Vision, the company is operating the “Phil Care” integrated support program for young caregivers. Through this program, the company provides financial support and self-reliance programs, such as barista job training.
The company has also strengthened its ESG support for business partners. Last year, NamyangDairyProducts participated in the Food Industry Joint ESG Action Declaration Ceremony and provided integrated ESG consulting and self-assessment programs to its business partners.
The company is also refining its compliance and ethical management systems. NamyangDairyProducts is participating in the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s Voluntary Compliance Program for Ethical Management to strengthen its internal controls and risk management systems. It also regularly conducts training on ethical management and anti-corruption for all employees.
Kim Seung-eon, President and Chief Executive Officer of NamyangDairyProducts, stated, “We are strengthening sustainable ESG management based on environmental management, social contribution activities that foster growth alongside local communities, and transparent, responsible management.” He added, “Going forward, we will continue to advance our ESG management by developing production systems that reduce environmental impact, creating eco-friendly products, and establishing responsible governance.”
