The first week of July brought new developments to the public. Singer Kim Ho-joong drew attention after being released on parole. Actress Oh Yoon-ah announced her remarriage, 11 years after her divorce. News of actor Ryu Jun-yeol’s move to a new agency also attracted attention.

◇Kim Ho-joong Released on Parole
Kim Ho-joong was released on parole on the 30th of last month. Kim had been serving a prison sentence at Somang Prison in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, after being convicted of a hit-and-run accident while driving under the influence.
On that day, Kim Ho-joong left the prison wearing a black suit and a mask. Without making any public statement, he immediately got into a car and left the scene. Fans of Kim Ho-joong had gathered near the prison. A banner reading, “My son! You’ve really been through a lot. I love you,” was also displayed.
Previously, Kim Ho-joong was arrested and indicted on charges—including dangerous driving causing injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes—for driving under the influence on Apgujeong-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in May 2024. He crossed the center line, collided with a taxi in the opposite lane, fled the scene, and instructed his manager to turn himself in on his behalf. He was subsequently sentenced to two years and six months in prison. After serving part of his sentence at the Seoul Detention Center, he was transferred to Somang Prison in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, last August, where he has continued to serve his sentence.

◇Oh Yoon-ah to Remarry
Actress Oh Yoon-ah is getting remarried 11 years after her divorce. On the 3rd, Oh Yoon-ah posted a video titled “Oh Yoon-ah’s New Beginning” on her YouTube channel, “Oh! Yoon-ah,” and announced the news of her marriage.
Oh Yoon-ah said, “For a long time, raising my child was my top priority,” adding, “I thought I would have to work hard for the rest of my life with Min-i (her son), but then I met a truly wonderful person.”
Oh Yoon-ah revealed that her fiancé is a non-celebrity and added, “Please accept this change in my life and continue to support me as you have been.”
Oh Yoon-ah married in 2007 and gave birth to her son in August of that same year. She later divorced in 2015.

◇Ryu Jun-yeol Joins Forces with G-Dragon
Actor Ryu Jun-yeol has left his agency, UAA, and joined Galaxy Corporation. In an official statement released on the 1st, Galaxy Corporation said, “We will actively support all aspects of his career so that he can shine even brighter on the global stage,” adding, “We will create new synergies by jointly developing content, global projects, artificial intelligence (AI), and intellectual property (IP) businesses.”
Galaxy Corporation represents singer G-Dragon, Taemin, actor Song Kang-ho, TV personality Kim Jong-kook, and baseball player Lee Jung-hoo.
