[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] #LivsMed Inc., a company specializing in surgical robots and minimally invasive surgery, announced on the 6th that it has obtained approval from Yongin Special City to build a new factory on a site in Jigok-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, and will begin full-scale construction of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the “AMF (Advanced Manufacturing Facility).” Following its announcement last June that it had secured the site, LivsMed Inc. has now finalized the necessary permits and plans to begin full-scale construction with the goal of phased operations starting in 2027. The AMF is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that combines ultra-precise processes, quality control, and automated production infrastructure. It is intended to operate as an integrated production hub that goes beyond a simple manufacturing plant to concentrate precision manufacturing capabilities. At the AMF, LivsMed Inc. will manufacture its entire product lineup, including the multi-joint laparoscopic surgical instrument “ArtiSential” and the next-generation surgical robot “STARK.” The company plans to establish a stable supply system in line with the roadmap for STARK’s entry into the South Korean, Japanese, and U.S. markets, which was unveiled last May. In addition to the production facility, the company will establish its own global training center—a first for a domestic surgical instrument manufacturer. By integrating clinical training, product demonstrations, and technical collaboration programs for overseas medical professionals and partners, the company plans to develop the facility into a global hub that encompasses everything from production to education. LivsMed Inc. explained that it selected the location based on Yongin’s industrial ecosystem and logistics infrastructure. Given its excellent accessibility for domestic and international medical professionals and its favorable conditions for overseas exports via airports and seaports, the company expects the site to serve as a global hub encompassing both production and education. Lee Jeong-ju, CEO of LivsMed Inc., stated, “The AMF serves as the foundation for reliably supplying the technological expertise we have accumulated over the past 15 years to the global market, as well as a space where medical professionals and partners worldwide can experience LivsMed Inc.’s technology firsthand,” adding, “We will develop it into a key hub that elevates our global competitiveness to the next level.” Meanwhile, LivsMed Inc. also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Yongin Special Self-Governing City Hall regarding the establishment of the AMF and regional cooperation, with Yongin Special Self-Governing City Mayor Lee Sang-il and CEO Lee Jeong-ju in attendance.
