[Edaily Reporter Kang Min-koo ] Private space launch vehicle company INNOSPACE Co., Ltd.(462350)has signed a contract with Alada, a state-owned enterprise under the Brazilian government, to use the launch site at the Alcântara Space Center in Brazil for the test flight of its multipurpose suborbital rocket, "SEBIT."

ALADA is a state-owned enterprise specializing in aerospace projects, established by the Brazilian government in June 2025. It supports the commercial use of Brazil’s space launch sites and is responsible for coordinating business development and collaborative projects between domestic and international space companies and the Brazilian government.

Under this agreement, INNOSPACE Co., Ltd. plans to conduct the first test flight of “SEBIT” at the Alcântara Space Center in Brazil in the second half of this year. The flight aims to verify the rocket’s flight performance and operational stability and to enhance its technical maturity based on the flight data. Through this, the company plans to ensure launch reliability and expand the provision of suborbital testing and verification services to domestic and international research institutions and companies.

“SEBIT” is a multipurpose suborbital rocket developed to carry out testing, verification, and research missions for customer payloads by flying to the edge of space without entering Earth’s orbit. It is designed to simulate microgravity environments, conduct scientific research and verify the functionality of space components, and perform technology demonstration missions in high-speed, high-altitude environments. It features a 3-metric-ton-class hybrid rocket engine and is equipped with an integrated telemetry system that transmits and analyzes the rocket’s position and payload status in real time during flight.

Following the small scientific rocket “BLACK BIRD” for atmospheric and space environment research and technology demonstration, and the “HANBIT” series of satellite launch vehicles, INNOSPACE Co., Ltd. has added “Sebit” to its lineup of flight vehicles, thereby establishing a launch service portfolio that covers customer needs ranging from testing and verification to satellite launches.

Kim Soo-jong, CEO of INNOSPACE Co., Ltd., stated, “Sebit is a mission-oriented suborbital rocket developed to meet the growing demand for scientific research and space technology demonstration across various industries, including biotechnology, healthcare, new materials, and guidance, navigation, and control,” adding, “This launch site usage agreement is an important milestone as we move full steam ahead with preparations for commercial services.”
