[E-Daily Reporter An Yu-ri ] SK Shields announced on the 6th that it is conducting a pilot project at ECOPRO CO., LTD, a secondary battery company, based on its OT/ICS intrusion response platform, which integrates the entire process from anomaly detection to analysis and response.

This pilot project is being carried out as part of ECOPRO CO., LTD(086520)’s efforts to proactively strengthen its security framework across its entire production process.

Since production stability is a key competitive advantage in the secondary battery industry, a security framework capable of rapidly identifying threats and providing integrated response—from detection to mitigation—is essential. However, in existing OT environments, security systems are分散 across individual pieces of equipment, making integrated response difficult, and the closed nature of these networks has also limited the application of IT security measures. Additionally, the market structure—dominated by a single foreign vendor—has created a high adoption burden for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Accordingly, SK Shields plans to pilot an integrated incident response platform for control systems (OT/ICS)—capable of comprehensively managing and responding to security threats—at ECOPRO CO., LTD’s Pohang plant. This platform, developed as part of the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA)’s “2026 Integrated Security Model Development Pilot Project” in collaboration with companies such as Meniinsoft, Amjin, and Sensestone, is designed to protect the entire industrial environment by integrating authentication and access management, threat detection, and response functions.

In particular, it ensures both operational stability and response accuracy by employing a “non-intrusive” approach—which allows security measures to be implemented without modifying equipment or networks—and a “HITL (Human-in-the-Loop)” structure, where experts participate in the final decision-making process following detection. Additionally, its modular structure provides the flexibility to implement and scale the system in phases according to a company’s size and environment.

An ECOPRO CO., LTD official stated, “Through this pilot project, we plan to verify the platform’s performance and operational stability in a real production environment and establish a standard model for control system (OT/ICS) security that can be applied to various industrial sites,” adding, “Based on the results of the pilot, we also plan to explore expanding its application to domestic facilities.”

Kim Byung-moo, Head of the Cybersecurity Division (Executive Vice President) at SK Shields, said, “To ensure visibility and response speed in operational environments, it is crucial to integrate and manage the security systems scattered across the entire OT environment into a single platform.” He added, “Through this pilot, we will validate an integrated response model optimized for on-site environments and continue to strengthen cyber resilience across the entire industry.”
