[E-Daily Reporter KIM EUNG-TAE ] Global cosmetics Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) company COSMAX, INC.(192820)announced on the 7th that it received a “Satisfactory” rating in a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) proficiency assessment conducted by France’s BIPEA (Bureau Interprofessionnel d’Etudes Analytiques).

BIPEA is a French proficiency testing organization that evaluates the analytical accuracy and reliability of corporate research laboratories and testing institutions. Through this assessment, COSMAX, INC. demonstrated its capability to conduct in vitro SPF evaluations by consistently producing reliable results.
This evaluation was conducted based on the international standard test method “ISO 23675.” ISO 23675 is an in vitro non-clinical evaluation method that measures the absorption and transmission characteristics of ultraviolet rays in a laboratory using polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plates. A key feature of this method is the use of an automated application device equipped with a robotic arm, which reduces variations in the application process and enhances the consistency and reproducibility of the test.
Since adopting the ISO 23675 evaluation method in February of this year, COSMAX, INC. has continuously strengthened its sun care research and development (R&D) capabilities and evaluation infrastructure. In particular, considering the growing number of clients seeking to enter the European market, the company is further refining its sun care support system—which spans from product planning through formulation development, efficacy evaluation, and market response.
Last year, COSMAX, INC. partnered with the French clinical testing organization “Eurofins” to develop sunscreens tailored to specific countries. Eurofins operates more than 950 laboratories, and COSMAX, INC.’s strategy is to leverage Eurofins’ infrastructure to deliver highly reliable products.
