[Edaily Reporter Hyera Lee ] #TERAVIEW HOLDINGS PLC announced on the 9th that it has signed a contract worth approximately 400 million won to supply its “TeraCota 2000” to a major domestic automaker in collaboration with Doolim YAS Co., Ltd.

The TeraCota 2000, the core product of this contract, is an inspection system that measures the multi-layer paint coating on automotive bodies using a non-contact, non-destructive method. Unlike conventional ultrasonic inspection methods, it does not require surface contact or a coupling medium, allowing for precise measurement of the thickness of multiple paint layers without damaging the painted surface.
In the automotive manufacturing process, paint quality affects not only appearance but also durability, production efficiency, and cost competitiveness. TERAVIEW HOLDINGS PLC expects that the Terracotta 2000 will help reduce variations in paint quality while improving inspection efficiency and the operational stability of production lines.
This project exemplifies the combination of TERAVIEW HOLDINGS PLC’s terahertz inspection technology with YAS Co., Ltd.’s capabilities in robotic automation and system integration. The two companies plan to continue their collaboration to ensure the stable implementation of the inspection system in automotive production facilities.
TERAVIEW HOLDINGS PLC intends to use this supply contract as a springboard to enter the domestic automotive paint inspection market, while also expanding the application scope of the Terracotta product line to high-value-added coating inspection sectors such as batteries and aerospace, in addition to the automotive sector. The company plans to expand its business opportunities into the finished vehicle and battery markets across Asia, including South Korea.
