(Photo = JTBC) On the JTBC variety show “Please Take Care of My Fridge,” airing at 8:50 p.m. on the 12th, a variety of unique dishes prepared for Karina will be unveiled. Following a head-to-head showdown between Kim Pung and Park Eun-young, a team competition will take place featuring Choi Hyun-seok and Son Jong-won alongside their respective “right-hand chefs.”
The theme of the first challenge is a dish that will transform Karina into a comic book heroine. Kim Pung, a former webtoon artist, showed confidence as soon as the theme was revealed, and Karina, referencing his past dishes that garnered attention for their unique appearances, requested, “I’m looking forward to a second ‘X-Kkuraji.’ Please create a masterpiece today.”
Kim Pung’s opponent is Park Eun-young, who has won all six of their previous head-to-head matches. Park Eun-young expressed confidence in a seventh consecutive victory, stating, “Regardless of the theme, I can beat Kim Pung.” In response, Kim Pung vowed to end his long losing streak with a dish embodying Karina’s image.
However, it’s reported that the set was abuzz when, during the cooking process, Kim Pung produced a dish whose shape made it difficult to guess what it was. All eyes are now on whether he can live up to Karina’s expectations and secure his first victory against Park Eun-young.
The second showdown will feature—for the first time in *Please Take Care of My Fridge*—a competition where a star chef and the chef who has long assisted them form a single team. The team of Choi Hyun-seok and Kim Seon-yeop, who have worked together for 14 years, will compete against the team of Son Jong-won and Woo Do-hee, who have also drawn attention for their striking resemblance.
The two teams’ cooking styles show distinct differences. The Choi Hyun-seok and Kim Seon-yeop team naturally divides roles to complete their dishes, drawing on their long-established chemistry. The Son Jong-won and Woo Do-hee team approaches the challenge meticulously, having prepared a schedule that breaks down the 15-minute time limit into 30-second intervals.
When a nervous Woo Do-hee elicited laughter by giving an unexpected answer to host Kim Sung-joo’s question, Son Jong-won defended his junior, saying, “I couldn’t even answer at first.”
After seeing the finished dishes, Karina marveled, “It was like looking at a work of art.” The dish Karina chose after much deliberation, along with the winners of each round, will be revealed on today’s episode.
