[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ]RN2 Technologies Co., Ltd.(148250)is changing its name to “Square Tech” and embarking on a business restructuring. The company plans to expand its existing ceramic material technology into the semiconductor and defense sectors while fostering its digital asset business, and aims to return to operating profit next year by improving its financial structure.

RN2 Technologies Co., Ltd. announced on the 26th that it will change its name to Square Tech Co., Ltd. The company explained that the new name embodies the pursuit of excellence and perfection, and that it will use this as an opportunity to expand its business structure—currently centered on materials and components—into that of a global technology company.

The foundation for this business expansion is the LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-firing Ceramics) material and process technology accumulated over approximately 20 years. The company plans to leverage this technology to secure new business opportunities in the semiconductor and defense markets.

It is also advancing into the digital asset sector. Through its Digital Solutions (DS) business, the company provides digital asset custody and infrastructure services to institutional clients and is pursuing the distribution of dollar-pegged stablecoins, as well as trading and payment platform businesses utilizing them. It also plans to expand cooperation with overseas partners through its U.S. subsidiary.

Following the management reshuffle, the company is also accelerating its financial restructuring efforts. At an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on the 14th, the company dismissed the existing board of directors and appointed new members. The company explained that this move solidified a management structure centered on CEO Kim Kang-ho.

First, the company completed the early redemption of 5.1 billion won worth of convertible bonds (CBs). The company explained that this reduced the potential dilution risk associated with the conversion of these bonds into shares. Going forward, it plans to sell non-core assets and streamline operations to repay additional debt.

Organizational efforts to improve profitability are also underway. Led by the Management Innovation Task Force (TFT) formed last September, the company is pursuing cost-cutting measures and company-wide management improvement initiatives. The company has set a goal of returning to operating profit next year through these cost structure improvements and the expansion of new businesses.

CEO Kim Kang-ho stated, “Based on our solid LTCC technology, we will pioneer the semiconductor and defense markets, and by adding digital assets as a new growth engine, we will repay the trust of our shareholders and the market with strong performance.”

He added, “We are rapidly normalizing our financial structure, starting with the early redemption of convertible bonds,” and declared, “We will achieve a return to profitability in 2027 and make it the starting point for a new leap forward.”
