Set to premiere on the 31st, MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Married Woman Killer” depicts the struggles of a working mom with the world’s most cutthroat job as she fights to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
In the drama, Jung Joon-won plays Kwon Tae-sung, the husband of Yoo Bo-na (played by Gong Hyo-jin) and a passionate investigative reporter. While he acts as a steadfast supporter for his wife as she returns to work after a three-year hiatus, he also struggles with the conflict between his sense of journalistic duty and his responsibilities as the head of the household while tracking down the mysterious “Kingfisher.” Jung Joon-won is expected to heighten the drama’s immersion by deeply portraying the complex inner world of the character Kwon Tae-sung.
Ahead of the premiere, Jeong Jun-won explained his reason for choosing the role, saying, “The script was incredibly exciting and entertaining. Also, the chance to work alongside Gong Hyo-jin, whom I’ve been a fan of for a long time, was a major draw.”
Jung Joon-won cited “romantic” and “doting father” as the keywords that best describe Kwon Tae-sung. He expressed his affection for the character, saying, “It’s no exaggeration to say that Tae-sung lives solely for his family; he’s overflowing with love for them. You’ll understand this fully once you watch the show.”
Regarding his compatibility with the character, he added, “Basically, I’m more reserved and introverted than Tae-sung. Since there are many aspects of him that I don’t possess, I worked hard to adapt to the character.” Jung Jun-won’s sincere approach is expected to bring Kwon Tae-sung’s unique, warm, and affectionate charm to life in a more three-dimensional way.
In particular, Jung Joon-won, who will be playing a married couple with Gong Hyo-jin in *The Married Woman Killer*, said, “Senior Gong Hyo-jin is an actress with such immense power that she makes her co-star’s heart flutter just by being on set with her.”

Based on the popular KakaoPage webtoon of the same name, “Married Woman Killer” brings together director Yoon Jong-ho—whose stylish direction spanning time and space was recognized in “Run Away with Seonjae” and “Times”—and writer Kim Eun-hee, who has showcased multidimensional character development and solid writing skills in “Ghost Doctor” and “Legendary Doctor.” Adding to the excitement, actors Gong Hyo-jin, Jung Joon-won, Lee Sang-yi, and Sung Dong-il have joined the cast.
