[E-Daily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] CrowdWorks, Inc.(355390)discussed plans for cooperation on AI Transformation (AX) in the agricultural sector by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology with data from the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Agricultural and Forestry Satellite.

CrowdWorks, Inc. announced on the 15th that it attended a roundtable discussion on AI technology cooperation for agricultural AX innovation, held on the 10th at the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, an affiliate of the Rural Development Administration.

This roundtable was organized to share the latest AI technologies and discuss ways to apply them to actual agricultural settings, with the aim of promoting digital transformation and expanding the use of AI in the agricultural sector.

Attendees included Seong Je-hoon, President of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences; Kim Hyung-tae, an industry professor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Convergence at Sungkyunkwan University; and representatives from industry, academia, and research institutions, including the AI solutions company SpaceBank.

The Rural Development Administration is establishing a next-generation AI agricultural observation system using agricultural and forestry satellites. With the launch on the 7th of South Korea’s first agricultural and forestry satellite—a joint project by the Korea Aerospace Administration, the Rural Development Administration, and the Korea Forest Service—the foundation has been laid for collecting data on farmland and forests nationwide.

The data obtained from the agricultural and forestry satellite will be used to analyze changes in farmland and crop yields, respond to disasters such as droughts and pests, and monitor changes in forests.

During the roundtable discussion, participants discussed plans to build an Agriculture AX demonstration model by combining satellite and agricultural data held by national research institutions with private-sector AI technology.

CrowdWorks, Inc. presented a data construction strategy to preprocess and manage the quality of large-scale agricultural and forestry satellite imagery so it can be used for AI training. The company also introduced case studies of generative AI implementation across various industries and customized AI business models applicable to the agricultural sector.

CrowdWorks, Inc. plans to explore specific opportunities for future collaboration with the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, including the construction of satellite datasets and the development of AI models for precision agriculture.
