[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Incheon’s Inspire Arena will be renamed “Naver Arena” starting this December. Naver (NAVER(035420)) has secured naming rights for three years and will expand offline entertainment touchpoints by integrating Team Naver technologies and services—such as simplified authentication, digital assets, and augmented reality (AR) wayfinding—into the venue.

Naver announced on the 26th that it had signed a naming rights and strategic partnership agreement with INSPIRE Resort.
Accordingly, the official name of INSPIRE Arena will be changed to “NAVER Arena at INSPIRE,” abbreviated as “NAVER Arena.”
The naming rights will take effect in December and remain in place for three years. The contract amount was not disclosed.
FaceSign, NFTs, and AR Wayfinding at the Venue
The collaboration between the two companies goes beyond a simple name change. Naver and INSPIRE will jointly plan performances at Naver Arena and Discovery Park, and are exploring ways to utilize Npay’s facial recognition access and authentication service, “Facesign,” as well as Npay Wallet-based NFTs in the on-site admission process.
AR navigation utilizing Naver Labs’ digital twin technology is also part of the collaboration.
Naver will combine online services, membership programs, and payment, authentication, and spatial technologies to enhance the audience experience, while Inspire will be responsible for attracting global performances, sports, and entertainment content, as well as managing the arena operations.
The companies also plan to offer performance and event benefits for Naver Plus membership users.
An Offline Hub for Experiencing Team Naver Technology
Naver envisions using Naver Arena as an offline hub where users can experience Team Naver’s brand, technology, and services firsthand.
This will enable experiences such as concertgoers entering via FaceSign, verifying digital tickets or NFTs with the Npay wallet, and navigating the venue using AR navigation.
Lee Jae-hoo, Head of Naver’s Entertainment Services Division, said, “We will utilize Naver Arena as a flagship landmark to showcase Team Naver’s branding, technology, and services, and to provide distinctive cultural experiences,” adding, “We will host global events that leverage technologies such as Naver Plus membership benefits and Npay FaceSign.”
Lee Han-na, Chief Marketing Officer at Inspire, said, “We will create new entertainment experiences by combining our arena management capabilities with Naver’s technology and services.”
The first event will be a world-class women’s tennis tournament
The first event at the newly renamed Naver Arena will be “Naver × Hyundai Card THE SIX,” taking place December 25–27. It will be held as a tournament featuring six of the world’s top women’s tennis players.
The two companies plan to continue expanding programs that integrate Naver’s services and technology into concerts, sports, and entertainment events.
