The poster, released on the 15th, features the family—who appear ordinary at first glance but exude a mysterious atmosphere. The tagline, foreshadowing intense events to come, piques curiosity and heralds the arrival of a fresh revenge drama that subverts typical genre conventions. The first poster captures the four women in distinct poses inside a yellow van. From “Ok-sil” (Lee Jung-eun), the mother praying with a rosary in hand, to the eldest daughter “Jang-ju” (Gong Hyo-jin), who is behind the wheel and keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings; the second daughter “Young-ju” (Park So-dam), testing a disposable camera to create an alibi; and the third daughter “Dong-ju” (Lee Yeon), who is the only one sound asleep and completely at ease—each character’s distinct personality stands out. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary family trip, but the human-shaped red silhouette positioned between them and the bold tagline, “We’ve kidnapped a murderer,” capture the viewer’s attention and hint at an unpredictable plot. Wearing matching “FAMILY” T-shirts and posing affectionately, they appear perfectly harmonious on the surface, but beneath that lies a meticulous revenge plan eight years in the making, creating a chilling sense of tension. Added to this are the tagline, “The trip is an alibi; the goal is revenge. We’ve kidnapped a murderer,” along with bloodstains, which heighten curiosity about the full story behind this “deadly” family trip. “Gyeongju Trip” stars Lee Jung-eun, an irreplaceable actress who boasts a wide acting range across all genres, including “Zombie Daughter,” “She Who Is Different Day and Night,” and “Parasite”; Gong Hyo-jin, who has captivated audiences with her uniquely down-to-earth performances in “The Neighbors,” “When the Camellia Blooms,” and “The Incarnation of Jealousy”; and Park So-dam, who has demonstrated nuanced emotional acting and a radiant presence in “Lee Jae, You’re Going to Die,” “Parasite,” and “The Priests,” who has demonstrated subtle emotional depth and a radiant presence; and Lee Yeon, who has garnered attention for her eye-catching charm and outstanding acting skills in “The Great Lady of the 21st Century,” “Island of the Lost,” and “Youth Court,” round out the lineup of “trusted actors” (actors you can count on). *Journey to Gyeongju* is the first commercial film by director Kim Mi-jo, whose directing skills were recognized with her debut film *The Seagull*. Even before its release, the film has been generating anticipation after being invited to prestigious film festivals such as the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Florence Korean Film Festival. Notably, *Journey to Gyeongju* received critical acclaim at the 24th Florence Korean Film Festival held last March and was honored with the Audience Award.
