[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] Samsung SDS (SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD.(018260)) has become the only South Korean company to be named in Gartner’s Robotic Process Automation (RPA) market assessment for seven consecutive years with its artificial intelligence (AI)-based business automation solution, “Brity Automation.”

According to the information technology (IT) industry on the 15th, Samsung SDS’s Brity Automation was included in the “2026 Magic Quadrant for RPA” evaluation released by Gartner. Brity Automation has been included in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant evaluation every year since 2020.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is a market research report that compares and analyzes leading vendors in a specific technology market based on criteria such as execution capability and the completeness of their vision. It comprehensively evaluates not only product and service delivery capabilities but also market responsiveness, product strategy, customer support, and future business direction.

This year’s report included 10 enterprise RPA providers, including Samsung SDS, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Appcian, EvoluteIQ, Lyre, Pega Systems, and SS&C Blue Prism. Samsung SDS is the only South Korean company on the list.

Britty Automation is a business automation solution in which software robots handle tasks—such as data entry, data retrieval, and document processing—that were previously performed repeatedly by humans. According to Samsung SDS, Britty Automation is ranked first in the domestic RPA market and eighth in the global market.

Samsung SDS has expanded the scope of automation by combining generative AI with its existing RPA platform. Briti Automation supports knowledge-based tasks previously performed by humans by utilizing generative AI-based features such as document summarization, email composition, and internal knowledge search.

Recently, the platform has been evolving into an “agent-based automation” platform that understands the content and context of documents, analyzes unstructured data, and performs complex business procedures. This marks a shift from a model where repetitive tasks are performed according to fixed rules to a structure where AI agents assess tasks, select appropriate tools, and process them.

The company is also strengthening its orchestration capabilities, which enable the integrated management of multiple Agent AI agents within a single environment and coordinate the division of roles and collaboration among agents. The vision is to support companies in connecting Agent AI agents adopted by different departments and for different tasks to automate the entire business process.

Gartner cited Briti Automation’s strengths as easy deployment, technical support tailored to the customer’s environment, and flexible implementation options.

Briti Automation supports both on-premises deployment—installed directly on a company’s internal systems—and cloud environments. It can be tailored to customer environments even in sectors such as finance, public sector, and manufacturing, where the use of external clouds is restricted or where data security and regulatory compliance are critical.

Licensing options include both a subscription model, where users pay a fee for a set period, and a perpetual license that grants permanent use of the software. Companies can choose their deployment environment and cost model based on their IT infrastructure, budget, and security policies.

Gartner has analyzed that the enterprise automation market is rapidly shifting from a traditional RPA-centric model to an “agent-based automation” framework that utilizes AI agents. The firm explains that the ability to reliably integrate and operate AI agents within existing enterprise systems and business processes is becoming more important than the technology for automating repetitive tasks itself.

Briti Automation is being utilized across various industries, including finance, public sector, manufacturing, services, and education. Major clients include NH Nonghyup Bank, Korea Expressway Corporation, Korea Railroad Corporation, Korea Southern Power, Sungkyunkwan University, SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS, SamsungHeavyIndustries, High1 Resort, and NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES.

Samsung SDS plans to evolve Briti Automation into an enterprise platform that connects generative AI, RPA, and corporate systems to automate everything from simple, repetitive tasks to document-based knowledge work and complex processes.
