[E-Daily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] Seo Kyung-bae, Chairman of AMOREPACIFIC CORPORATION, donated AMOREPACIFIC CORPORATION(090430) shares worth 500 million won to Seoul National University Hospital. This donation follows his previous support for the construction of the hospital’s cancer center and is intended to continue supporting improvements to the medical environment.

Based on a share price of 123,100 won, the donated shares are valued at approximately 499,910,000 won. With this donation, Chairman Seo’s holdings of AMOREPACIFIC CORPORATION common stock decreased from 6,038,072 shares to 6,034,011 shares. Consequently, his stake decreased by 0.01 percentage points from 50.14%.
AMOREPACIFIC CORPORATION spokesperson stated, “Approximately 400 million won of the donation will be used to remodel ‘Seo Seong-hwan Hall’ within the Seoul National University Hospital Cancer Center, and the remaining 100 million won will be used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.”
Seo Seong-hwan Hall is named after the late Seo Seong-hwan, Chairman Seo’s father and the founder of AMOREPACIFIC CORPORATION (formerly Taepyeongyang). In 2011, Chairman Seo donated 500 million won to Seoul National University Hospital to raise awareness of women’s cancers and improve the cancer treatment environment. In honor of his generosity, Seoul National University Hospital named the auditorium at its Cancer Hospital “Seo Seong-hwan Hall.”
Chairman Seo has continued his relationship with Seoul National University Hospital ever since. In 2014, he donated 1 billion won toward the construction of the hospital’s Center for Medical Research and Innovation.
