According to their agency, Big Hit Music, on the 16th, BTS will exclusively release the music video for “NORMAL” at 1:00 p.m. on the 17th via the global music streaming platform Spotify. At the same time, BTS will also release a total of three audio tracks for “NORMAL,” including the Korean version, a clean version, and an instrumental track. These tracks will be available on major music streaming platforms both in Korea and abroad.
“Normal” is an alternative pop track that explores the ordinary daily lives and thoughts of the seven BTS members. The original lyrics on the album were written in English. Characterized by heavy drum kicks and snare sounds, the song debuted at No. 41 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the week of April 4.
At midnight that day, BTS posted a teaser for the “Normal” music video on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel. The teaser shows RM squeezing his way between the members, who are standing side by side with their backs turned in a bathroom, heightening fans’ curiosity about the full video.
Previously, on the 14th (local time), Big Hit Music generated buzz by placing an advertisement in the print editions of the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Post featuring that scene alongside a parody of the article’s headline: “Some have questioned whether the situation was entirely normal.”
BTS is enjoying a long run on the Billboard 200, the main album chart, with their fifth studio album, “Arirang.” The album ranked 25th on the latest Billboard 200 chart (dated July 18). The title track, “SWIM,” reached No. 84 on the Hot 100.
