The U.S. entertainment news outlet Page Six reported on the 17th (local time) that Frecker passed away on the night of the 16th in Dublin, Ireland, due to a long-standing illness.
The late actor’s agent stated, “Precker passed away peacefully. I can’t believe I’ll never see him again,” adding, “It was an honor to work with him. He will remain forever in my heart and in the hearts of movie and TV fans around the world.”
Born in Dublin in 1945, Preacher began her acting career in 1964 with a role in the film *The Human Bondage*. She subsequently gained wider recognition through the BBC drama *Casualty* and rose to international stardom in 1989 when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 62nd Academy Awards for her role in the film *My Left Foot*.
In 1992, she appeared in the film *Home Alone 2*, co-starring with Macaulay Culkin. In that film, Preker played the role of “Pigeon Lady,” a homeless woman living in New York’s Central Park, leaving a strong impression on audiences. Preker’s final film appearance was in *The Swallow*, released in 2024.
