Yoon Nam-no Aims to Break Six-Game Losing Streak… Faces Off Against Jeong Ho-young, a Japan-Trained Expert in Offal Cuisine
[Edaily Reporter Son Eui-Yeon ] On the 19th, JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Fridge” will feature a 15-minute cooking showdown using the fridge of “17 Million Director” Jang Hang-jun. First, Yoon Nam-no and Jeong Ho-young will face off with dishes featuring offal, Jang Hang-jun’s favorite food. Jeong Ho-young expresses concern for Yoon Nam-no, who has earned only one star this year, but gains the upper hand by revealing that he worked at a restaurant specializing in grilled offal while studying in Japan, declaring it a topic he simply cannot lose. Yoon Nam-no counters by saying he’s eaten plenty of offal dishes and knows exactly how to make them taste good, further heightening anticipation.
In the first showdown of the day, unique offal dishes are created that even offal enthusiast Jang Hang-jun marvels at, calling them flavors he’s never tasted before. Jeong Ho-young tackles the offal dishes using the know-how he learned in Japan, while Yoon Nam-no uses every type of offal found in Jang Hang-jun’s refrigerator to showcase cooking techniques that even the chefs found fascinating. All eyes are on the showdown between Yoon Nam-no—determined to break his six-game losing streak—and Jeong Ho-young, a seasoned offal chef.
In the second round, Lee Moon-jeong and Park Eun-young team up with Choi Hyun-seok and Kwon Seong-jun to compete in a team battle where the pride of Chinese and Italian cuisine is on the line. Kwon Seong-jun, who is teamed up with Choi Hyun-seok—his first mentor on “Cold Kitchen”—hints at a swagger-filled mentor-apprentice dynamic and expresses confidence that they’ll finish the assigned portion in no time. Meanwhile, the “Chinese Cuisine Dorn Sisters,” Lee Moon-jeong and Park Eun-young, acknowledge their unique madness by saying, “We really are the Dorn Sisters,” while also issuing a wild declaration of war: “We’re going to really take down those Western cuisine chefs,” drawing attention to the showdown between the two teams.
As the showdown begins, the two teams display polar-opposite styles of teamwork. In particular, Kwon Seong-jun and Choi Hyun-seok bring laughter with their individualistic play, each sticking to their own style. Rumor has it that Lee Moon-jung and Park Eun-young showcased a “performance to really take down the Western-style chefs” by incorporating high-level Chinese culinary techniques. Jang Hang-jun, who watched the performance, reportedly couldn’t help but be amazed, further heightening anticipation.
The results of the team competition will be revealed on JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Fridge” at 8:50 p.m. on the 19th.
