[Edaily Reporter Yun Junghoon ]KONAN TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATION(402030)announced on the 20th that it has completed the development of the “Gas Safety AI Advisor,” a generative AI business support system for the KoreaGasCorporation, and began full-scale company-wide operations on the 15th.

The “Gas Safety AI Advisor” is a generative AI-based work support platform designed to help KGS employees easily search for and utilize specialized materials necessary for performing their duties, such as laws and regulations, the KGS Code, internal rules, guidelines, and operational manuals.

Through this system, employees can utilize features such as Q&A for work-related inquiries, drafting official documents and reports, and document summarization and translation. AI responses are accompanied by relevant supporting materials, allowing users to directly verify the sources.

Furthermore, for public inquiry handling, the system analyzes submitted content to draft responses and recommend the appropriate department in charge, thereby accelerating processing times and ensuring consistent response quality.

Previously, KONAN TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATION secured a contract last year worth approximately 800 million won for the “Gas Safety AI Advisor Implementation” project and, during the project’s execution, implemented a generative AI-based work support service tailored to the KoreaGasCorporation’s overall operations. The KoreaGasCorporation conducted a total of three pilot operations starting in March of this year, continuously refining the system’s features based on user feedback, and transitioned to a company-wide operational system following final integration testing.

This system features a database of approximately 30,000 specialized documents, including laws, KGS Codes, regulations, and technical materials, and incorporates KONAN TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATION’s Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology. By first searching internal documents relevant to a query and then using them to generate responses, the system minimizes the “hallucination” phenomenon common in generative AI and provides highly accurate answers that align with the work context.

This is particularly significant because it integrates internal knowledge search and document creation functions into a single system, marking a shift in public institutions’ use of generative AI from simple information retrieval to actual business process innovation.

KONAN TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATION is strengthening its position in the public energy sector by carrying out generative AI and energy-specialized Agent AI projects for Korea Southern Power, Korea Western Power, and Korea DONGSUH Power, as well as participating in the KoreaElectricPower Corporation (KEPCO) AI Council.

Building on this project with the KoreaGasCorporation, the company is expanding its portfolio of industry-specific agent-based AI solutions applicable across the power generation, electricity, and gas sectors, thereby securing de facto standard product status.
