[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Kakao(035720)(CEO Jeong Shin-ah) has organized a special AI event for pet owners. Kakao announced on the 20th that it will run the “Kanana Pet Letter Maker” event through August 14, using its proprietary omnimodal AI model, “Kanana-o,” to create video letters revealing pets’ inner thoughts.
Reading a Pet’s Inner Thoughts from a Single Photo
“Kanana-o,” the core technology behind this event, is Kakao’s proprietary AI model capable of simultaneously understanding and processing various forms of information, including text, voice, and images.
When a user uploads a photo of their pet, the AI comprehensively analyzes the pet’s expression, surrounding background, and context to generate text and voice messages that imagine the pet’s inner thoughts.
Additionally, the AI guardrail model “Kanana Safeguard,” which preemptively blocks harmful content to ensure a comfortable and safe service environment, has also been implemented.
The Pet Letter Creation Process: Easy for Anyone to Participate In
Participating in the event is very intuitive and simple.
1. Enter your pet’s name and your relationship to it (information entry). 2. Upload one photo that shows your pet looking its best (Photo Upload). 3. Choose one of five voice tones: “Playful,” “Cheeky,” “Sassy,” “Affectionate,” or “Indignant” (Select Voice Tone). 4. Click the “Create Pet Letter” button to finish (Creation Complete).
The generated letter is combined with the photo uploaded by the user to create a video pet letter. Once production is complete, users can conveniently receive a notification message through the official KakaoTalk channel, “Kanana Tips.”
A giveaway event is also being held to let users enjoy AI technology in their daily lives.
Users who complete a Pet Letter are automatically entered into a raffle, and winners will receive a KakaoTalk Gift Card worth 20,000 won. If you upload your completed Pet Letter to your Instagram and tag the official Kanana account (@kanana.ai), you’ll be entered into a separate drawing for an additional KakaoTalk Gift Card worth 300,000 won.
