Approximately 200 participants from 100 companies attended, including domestic and international cosmetics brands, Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) firms, beauty business-to-business (B2B) platforms, and packaging and raw material suppliers. This year’s seminar was organized to examine trends in cosmetics packaging and to address the upcoming implementation of the European Union’s (EU) Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The PPWR is a packaging regulation that will apply directly to the 27 EU member states starting August 12; its core provisions include packaging designs that facilitate recycling and the expanded use of recycled materials. Starting in 2030, related regulations are set to be phased in, requiring packaging distributed within the EU to meet recyclability standards. Presentations at the seminar covered specific topics including: △ analysis and outlook on beauty packaging trends; △ risks and response strategies related to the implementation of the PPWR; and △ Yeonwoo’s quality competitiveness in the global beauty market. Starting with this seminar, Yeonwoo plans to institutionalize regular events such as trend seminars and quality guide sharing sessions to strengthen ongoing communication with its clients. The company also intends to expand collaborative activities with KOLMAR KOREA to enhance synergies in design, formulation, and packaging development. Founded in 1983, Yeonwoo is a comprehensive cosmetics packaging specialist. It was the first company in Korea to produce dispenser pumps for cosmetics and possesses the technological expertise to have first commercialized the “airless pump.” Yeonwoo’s competitiveness in the global market has been recognized through awards such as one received at “Paris Packaging Week,” Europe’s largest packaging exhibition. A Yeonwoo official stated, “This seminar was a meaningful event that went beyond simply conveying information to showcase Yeonwoo’s differentiated quality competitiveness,” adding, “We plan to strengthen our clients’ trust and build solid partnerships based on Yeonwoo’s quality competitiveness.”
