These products are designed to meet the demand for unique desserts—previously found mainly in specialty shops—that consumers can now easily enjoy at home.

E-MART Co., Ltd. announced on the 23rd that it has launched “Ube Shaved Ice (765g)” and “Dubai-Style Shaved Ice (780g).” Each is priced at 9,980 won, but customers can purchase them for 7,980 won—a 2,000-won discount—when redeeming Shinsegae Co.,Ltd. Points.

The new products feature ingredients that have recently gained attention on social media and at specialty dessert shops. Ube is a purple yam widely used as a dessert ingredient in Southeast Asia, characterized by its sweet flavor and purple hue. “Dubai-style” refers to a dessert that combines pistachios with kadayif, a Middle Eastern pastry.

The Ube Shaved Ice highlights the unique color and sweet taste of ube, while the Dubai-Style Shaved Ice incorporates pistachios and toasted kadayif to deliver a nutty flavor and crunchy texture.

Both products come in meal kit form, eliminating the need for a dedicated shaved ice machine. Simply freeze the included shaved ice base for 3–4 hours, crush it into small pieces, and top it with the included toppings to complete the dish. This design eliminates the hassle of having to purchase the shaved ice base and additional ingredients separately.

Along with the launch of the shaved ice meal kits, E-MART Co., Ltd. is also showcasing a range of processed foods featuring ube. These include Lotte’s Sticky Rice Cake Pie with Ube Cream Cheese, Lotte’s Custard with Ube Latte Flavor, Haitai’s Oyes Ube Latte and Haitai’s Yeonyanggang with Ube Flavor, as well as Ube Yogurt Powder.

Jeong Guk-won, a deli buyer at E-MART Co., Ltd., said, “We are quickly incorporating ingredients and flavors that are trending both domestically and internationally into our products,” adding, “We will continue to expand our lineup of new products so that customers can experience unique foods at reasonable prices.”
