Among the Galaxy Z8 series unveiled by SamsungElectronics on the 22nd, one of the core AI experiences of the “Galaxy Z Fold8” is the “My FanCam” feature in the video editor.

Aimed at users who enjoy not only consuming content but also editing and creating it on a large screen, this feature allows users to select a video from the Gallery app, launch My FanCam, and simply designate the desired subject—after which the video is automatically recomposed to center on that person.

This AI-powered video editing feature allows users to easily create video content centered on a specific person without complex editing techniques. When a user selects a specific person they want to track within a video, the AI automatically tracks that person and generates a video with the desired aspect ratio.

Until now, creating so-called “fan cam” videos—which isolate a specific person from group or stage footage—required a complex editing process. “My Fan Cam” simplifies this process using AI technology, enhancing user convenience.

A SamsungElectronics spokesperson explained, “We’ve used AI to simplify complex editing techniques, such as ‘My Fan Cam’ in Photo Assist and Video Editor,” adding, “My Fan Cam also tracks the selected person and automatically generates a video in the desired aspect ratio.”

Amid the ongoing trend of personalized media consumption, particularly on short-form platforms, the “My Fan Cam” feature—combined with the Fold 8’s large screen—is expected to significantly boost practical utility for users who frequently enjoy video editing in their daily lives.
