According to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 24th, two Chinese women have been booked and are under investigation on charges of trespassing (unauthorized entry into a residence) after breaking into the CORTIS members’ residence. They are accused of entering the CORTIS residence around 2:00 a.m. on the 23rd.
A manager noticed that a package left at the front door had been damaged and the entrance door was open, so he reported the incident to the police. Officers who responded to the scene arrested the two women in the act as they were hiding on another floor inside the building.
During the police investigation, the women reportedly stated that they “purchased the address of the residence through social media.” However, they reportedly denied the charges of damaging the package and trespassing inside the residence.
This incident occurred amid ongoing controversy surrounding Cortis’s stalker fans, adding to the shock. Previously, his agency had warned that “we will take legal action without any leniency,” citing repeated privacy violations by some stalker fans, such as unauthorized entry into his residence or attaching GPS devices to his vehicle.
However, with the break-in occurring even after the legal warning, some observers point out that crimes committed by intrusive fans are becoming increasingly brazen. In particular, as statements have emerged suggesting that the residence’s address was traded online, calls are growing for an investigation into personal information leaks and illegal trading.
