CJ ENM CO., Ltd. announced on the 29th that it had successfully concluded the semi-final judging for the “2026 International Emmy Awards” in Seoul.

Established in 1973, the International Emmy Awards is a globally prestigious awards ceremony that recognizes outstanding TV programs produced outside the United States. Along with the Banff Rocky Awards and the Monte-Carlo TV Festival, it is considered one of the “world’s top three broadcasting awards ceremonies.” The semi-final judging, which selects the finalists, is hosted by leading companies in the global entertainment industry and held in various countries around the world.

The fact that the International Emmy Awards semifinal judging was held in Seoul for the second consecutive year is seen as further proof of the growing status of K-content and the influence of CJ ENM CO., Ltd., which has been connecting it to the global stage.

This year’s judging took place on the 23rd at the Cine de Chef theater in CJ CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. The judging category was “Drama Series,” and a multifaceted evaluation of entries from around the world was conducted.

The judging panel included a large number of key figures from leading global entertainment companies such as CJ ENM CO., Ltd., Warner Bros. Discovery, The Walt Disney Company Japan, Rakuten Viki, U-NEXT, Nippon TV, ViewTV, Piston, Knock on Wood, and Media Prima. The finalists selected through this judging process will be announced in September, and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 23 in New York.

Jang Ho, Head of the Platform Business Division at CJ ENM CO., Ltd., stated, “For over 30 years, CJ ENM CO., Ltd. has led the global expansion of K-content with pride and a vision for Korean culture, establishing K-culture as a sustainable global industry,” adding “It is deeply meaningful that we are once again fulfilling our role as a global cultural bridge by hosting the International Emmy Awards semifinal judging this year, and we will continue to do our utmost to ensure that K-content is even more widely embraced in the global market through our global value chain spanning planning, production, distribution, and platforms,” he added.

Meanwhile, prior to the judging, “CJ ENM Partners Day” was held on the 22nd to strengthen cultural exchange and cooperation with global partners. The event was graced by the presence of approximately 130 global entertainment industry executives, including Yoon Sang-hyun, CEO of CJ ENM CO., Ltd.

The event featured a “Market Insights” session to share global market outlooks, as well as a “Creator Talk” session. The Creator Talk session featured Director Jang Tae-yu of *The Tyrant’s Chef*, Director Park Shin-woo of *Unknown Seoul*—which was named one of *TIME* magazine’s “Top 10 Best K-Dramas of 2025”—and Director Lee Jang-hoon of *Study Group*, currently in production for Season 2, who shared behind-the-scenes stories of their global successes.

In the subsequent panel discussion, alongside an introduction to the lineup of new productions, specific strategies for the global expansion of K-content were discussed, including the case of the Korea-Japan co-production drama *Mary Berry Love*—which involved global co-production and distribution—and a new market distribution partnership with Deutsche Telekom.
