[Edaily Reporter KWON HYE-ME ] Kim Seon-tae, who resigned from his position managing the official YouTube channel of the Chungju City Hall in North Chungcheong Province, has issued an official apology regarding the controversy sparked by his reference to a member of the girl group Lisenne’s “scary” remark in a YouTube variety show.

On the 30th, Mr. Kim posted a video titled “I’m Sorry” on his YouTube channel.

On that day, Kim bowed his head and said, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by the ‘Don Seon-tae’ preview video uploaded to the KBS YouTube channel yesterday.”

Kim said, “I first saw the preview video around 8:40 p.m. yesterday. As soon as I realized there was a problem, I asked the production team to take it down,” adding, “Even though it’s a video bearing my name, I acted very irresponsibly.”

He continued, “I hide behind the name of the broadcaster and did not request any prior review or preview of the uploaded video,” expressing self-reproach. “It was also clearly my fault that I made inappropriate remarks about the guest, as many people have pointed out. Since it was my first shoot, I was so focused on getting through the script on the day of filming that I didn’t realize there were any problems with it on set,” he explained, describing the situation at the time.

Kim said, “Since the video was taken down, I’ve taken time to reflect on my words and actions,” and emphasized, “From now on, I will be more cautious in all my statements and actions. I will ensure that something like this never happens again.”

He added, “I would like to apologize to everyone who was harmed by my shortcomings, especially the members of Lisenne.”

Previously, on the 29th, KBS’s YouTube original series *Don Seon-tae’s Era of Success* released a preview video titled “First Statement: Why Am I on the News?!” The thumbnail prominently featured the phrase “What’s so scary?”—a reference to the “Museuno” controversy that had recently erupted in political circles.

The video was structured as Mr. Kim arranging a chance to explain himself to Won-i, but Mr. Kim made unreasonable demands—such as suggesting, “Finally, let me speak in my dialect one last time. Say, ‘Why is my name coming up in the political arena?’” This was seen as an unreasonable demand, leading netizens to accuse the show of causing secondary harm. The backlash grew particularly intense because a public broadcaster had reignited controversy over an issue that politicians had already addressed and apologized for.

Ultimately, the production team made the content private the previous night without issuing any official apology.
