[E-Daily Reporter KIM SAE-MI ] YuYu Healthcare, a subsidiary of YuyuPharma(000220) specializing in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) for health functional foods, has completed construction of its second factory in Hoengseong County, Gangwon Province, expanding its annual production capacity to 70 billion won.

Yuyu Healthcare announced on the 5th that it had completed construction of its second factory in the Ucheon General Industrial Complex in Hoengseong County, Gangwon Province, to mark its 20th anniversary.

The second plant was built on a 17,922-square-meter site with a total floor area of 7,056 square meters. It is equipped with production facilities for health functional foods in soft capsule, liquid, and jelly formulations and has an annual production capacity of 20 billion won.

With this expansion, Yuyu Healthcare’s annual production capacity has increased by 40 percent, from 50 billion won at the existing Plant No. 1 to a total of 70 billion won. By adding production lines for soft capsules, liquids, and jellies to Plant No. 1—which primarily focuses on solid dosage forms such as tablets—the range of producible products has also expanded. The total number of employees at the Hoengseong facility, including Plants No. 1 and No. 2, is 110.

Yuyu Healthcare plans to pursue vegan and halal certifications to expand its presence in overseas health functional food markets. Previously, Plant No. 1 obtained FSSC 22000 certification, an international food safety management system standard.

Yoo Kyung-soo, CEO of Yuyu Healthcare, said, “As we mark our 20th anniversary, we will emerge as a leading company in the dietary supplement industry through the completion of Plant No. 1, which is equipped with quality control capabilities, and Plant No. 2, which is capable of producing a variety of dosage forms.”

Meanwhile, Yuyu Healthcare, established in 2006, was selected this year for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ R&D program to foster regional innovation-leading companies, and last year, it was designated as a “Centennial Company” by Gangwon Province.
