[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] Aroot Co., Ltd.(096690)announced on the 31st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ES Logis, an international logistics company specializing in the Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) regions, for a “joint project to streamline logistics payment settlements using Web3 and stablecoins.”

The core objective of this MOU is to combine Aroot Co., Ltd.’s blockchain-based stablecoin infrastructure with SY CO., LTD.’s global logistics network to establish a payment and settlement model applicable to actual international logistics transactions. The two companies plan to move beyond research and development or simple technical validation to pursue joint projects that utilize stablecoins as a practical means of paying, receiving, and settling logistics payments.
The two companies will apply a stablecoin-based payment system to various costs incurred during the logistics process, such as freight charges, warehousing fees, customs clearance fees, and delivery charges. They also intend to establish a system for cross-border payment settlements and real-time clearing among themselves and their partner companies. Through this, they aim to verify whether they can reduce inefficiencies—such as payment delays, remittance costs, and exchange rate fluctuation risks—that arise when using existing international financial networks.
SY CO., LTD. is an international logistics company specializing in Russia and the CIS that established its Almaty branch in Kazakhstan upon its incorporation in 1999. It provides multimodal transportation services—integrating air, sea, and rail—across South Korea, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the CIS region, and serves clients across various industries, including electronics, alcoholic beverages, food, and cosmetics.
Based on SY CO., LTD.’s logistics transactions, Aroot Co., Ltd. plans to develop concrete scenarios for stablecoin payments and jointly develop a B2B-focused business model that integrates logistics data with its proprietary digital finance platform, FORTA.
Aroot Co., Ltd. has obtained a license for stablecoin issuance and digital asset custody from the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA), the regulatory body of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC). The USDFT (USDFT) to be issued by Aroot Co., Ltd. is a 100% reserve-backed stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar (USD) and is expected to be used in the future through FORTA for B2B trade settlements, cross-border remittances, and settlements.
Aroot Co., Ltd. stated, “This agreement is significant in that it secures concrete use cases for USDFT in the logistics and trade sectors of the real economy,” adding, “We will verify the speed of payments and cost efficiency by integrating POTA and USDFT into the settlement process for actual logistics costs, such as freight charges, warehouse fees, customs clearance fees, and delivery charges.”
The official continued, “Following the acquisition of an official AFSA license, the Potta platform, and a reserve management system, the preparation for the practical use of USDFT has become even more concrete as we establish partnerships with actual client companies.” They added, “Starting with SY CO., LTD., we plan to continuously identify B2B companies across various industries in Kazakhstan—including import/export, logistics, and distribution—to expand the practical applications of USDFT and develop Potta into the B2B digital payment infrastructure for Central Asia.”
