President Kim Dong-seon Takes Charge of Future Strategy to Identify New Business Opportunities
[Edaily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] Hanwha Machinery & Service Holdings (hereinafter “Hanwha M&S”), which brings together Hanwha Group’s Tech & Life Solutions divisions, has officially launched.

(Photo: Hanwha M&S) Hanwha M&S held a launch ceremony at The Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 3rd and convened a board of directors meeting to approve key agenda items, including the appointment of management, the establishment of various committees, and the enactment of internal regulations.
Hanwha M&S is divided into the Tech and Life Solutions divisions. The Tech division includes Hanwha Vision, Hanwha Semitek, Hanwha Momentum, and Hanwha Robotics. The Life division comprises HANWHA GALLERIA, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and Ourhome.
The group comprises a total of 57 companies, including subsidiaries. As of the end of last year, consolidated revenue stood at approximately 6 trillion won, with total assets amounting to 11.3 trillion won. Hanwha Vision and HANWHA GALLERIA are listed on the Korea Exchange (KRX).
Kim Hyung-jo has been appointed as the first CEO of Hanwha M&S. Born in 1968, Mr. Kim joined the Hanwha Group in 1994 and has been responsible for business strategy and field operations; he served as CEO of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts for four years starting in 2021.
With the launch of the holding company, Hanwha M&S plans to enhance expertise in each business segment and expand collaboration between its tech and lifestyle affiliates. The company aims to increase corporate value and shareholder value by pursuing investment and management strategies tailored to the characteristics of each business and the market environment.
Kim Dong-seon, President in charge of Future Strategy, also attended the ceremony and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the various changes and innovations that will take place under the holding company’s leadership.
President Kim Dong-seon, who heads Future Strategy at Hanwha M&S, is responsible for developing mid- to long-term strategies for each affiliate and identifying new business opportunities. President Kim was promoted to president on the 1st in recognition of his leadership in expanding new businesses in the tech sector—such as semiconductor equipment and robotics—and in pioneering markets in the Middle East and India.
Kim Hyung-jo, CEO of Hanwha M&S, stated, “We will establish a new management system that maximizes our expertise to transform into a strong and efficient organization,” adding, “We will strive to ensure that our growth contributes to the development of the nation and society.”
Previously, on the 15th of last month, Hanwha(000880)held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and approved the plan for a spin-off. Hanwha M&S is scheduled to be listed on the Korea Exchange on the 25th.
