[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] On the 4th, independent research firm Value Finder assessed that NBT INC.(236810)has successfully turned around its business, with both revenue and operating profit improving based on preliminary second-quarter results. The analysis notes that, alongside high growth in its new e-commerce division, discussions on shareholder return policies—such as securing dividend funds through the transfer of retained earnings—are gaining momentum.

NBT INC. is a mobile points platform company that listed on the KOSDAQ market in 2021. Based on preliminary second-quarter results, revenue reached 25.5 billion won, a 15.4% increase from the previous quarter, and operating profit stood at approximately 500 million won, marking a return to profitability. The new commerce division drove this improvement, with monthly transaction volume and revenue growing by approximately 20% and 150%, respectively, compared to the previous quarter. Its core business, Offer Wall, is also understood to have shown stable growth based on the expansion of new media partnerships.
According to Value Finder, the commerce business is expanding its travel category, while the Offer Wall is strengthening partnerships with financial platforms, which are expected to serve as additional growth drivers. Given that the second half of the year is typically the peak season for the advertising industry, the upward trend in earnings is expected to accelerate further in the second half of this year.
The company submitted a resolution to the shareholders’ meeting to reduce capital reserves and transfer funds to retained earnings. This measure is intended to secure funds for dividends and strengthen shareholder return policies, and the company is also reportedly reviewing measures to enhance shareholder value. Starting in the third quarter, new revenue from the reward advertising exchange “Adison X” is expected to be fully reflected in the financial results. It is understood that significant revenue has already been generated through initial integrations alone since its launch in early July, and the company’s profit capacity is expected to strengthen further as revenue from transaction fees gains momentum.
Whether the U.S. “Clarity Act”—which focuses on stablecoin regulation—will pass by the end of the year is also a hot topic. Expectations for the bill’s passage have risen as major financial institutions, including BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, have continued to express their public support. In South Korea, the Financial Services Commission is pushing for the passage of the Framework Act on Digital Assets within the year and has announced plans to introduce additional consolidated bills on the matter. Given that NBT INC. has been steadily laying the groundwork to expand its stablecoin infrastructure business, analysts note that the company is likely to benefit from these regulatory developments.
Ji-hoo, a researcher at ValueFinder, emphasized, “NBT INC. is achieving a stable earnings turnaround driven by high growth in its new commerce business,” adding, “Strengthened shareholder return policies through the transfer of retained earnings and the potential for regulatory benefits related to the stablecoin infrastructure business will have a positive impact on the company’s corporate value.”
