On the 4th, the production team of SBS’s “Our Ballad 2” announced that Joo Woo-jae and Roy Kim will join as the new representatives of the “Top Backgui” team. Attention is focused on how the two will perform in their roles as “Top Backgui” representatives.
Former model Joo Woo-jae has been active in various variety shows. He recently garnered attention by winning the Excellence Award for Male Variety Performer at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards. According to the production team, he—a “walking ballad archive” who has been immersed in countless ballad songs through the radio since childhood—is even eyeing a spot on the music team lineup, which includes Jung Jae-hyung, Roy Kim, and Jung Seung-hwan. It will be interesting to see how he performs in his first attempt at a music variety show.
Singer Roy Kim will also be joining the show. Roy Kim is a singer-songwriter in his 14th year since debut and the hottest “ongoing ballad musician” today, having charted every song he’s released. As a former winner of an audition show himself, he is expected to show a warm side that understands the contestants’ feelings on stage better than anyone else, and he plans to lend his strength to this season’s “Music Team Line” alongside Jung Jae-hyung and Jung Seung-hwan.
“Our Ballad 2” is set to begin full-scale production for the new season, starting with its first recording later this month.
“Our Ballad” is a program featuring songs from “those days” that today’s youth sing. It is a collective intelligence music survival audition where 150 members of the “Top 100 Delegation”—ranging from music experts to the general public of all ages—serve as public selection judges to discover new voices. Building on the popularity of Season 1, Season 2 has been produced.
It will premiere on SBS this October.
