Seegene Inc. Reports 2.16 Billion Won in Operating Profit for Q2… Up 586% Year-Over-Year

[Edaily Reporter Hong Ju-yeon ] Seegene Inc.(096530), a global provider of total molecular diagnostics solutions, announced on the 7th that it recorded second-quarter revenue of 136 billion won and operating profit of 21.6 billion won. These figures represent year-over-year increases of 19.2% and 586.4%, respectively. Net income stood at 26 billion won, marking a return to profitability compared to the same period last year.

Seegene Inc. stated that its non-respiratory product lines—including human papillomavirus (HPV), sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and gastrointestinal (GI) products—showed balanced growth.

By product category, sales of HPV products increased by 40.3% year-over-year, STI products by 20.7%, and GI products by 13.9%. Consequently, total sales of non-respiratory product lines grew by 22.9% year-over-year, establishing themselves as a key growth driver that complements the respiratory product line, which is relatively more susceptible to seasonal fluctuations.

By region, Europe maintained the highest share at 57.2% of total revenue, followed by Asia at 19.1%, Latin America at 12.4%, South Korea at 6.4%, and North America at 4.9%.

Kim Jeong-yong, Chief Financial Officer of Seegene Inc., stated, “As the non-respiratory product line has established itself as a key growth driver for the company, we were able to continue revenue growth and improve profitability in the second quarter.” He added, “Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our product competitiveness while investing in the development of new products and building a foundation for future growth—including Stagora and Cureka—to further solidify our mid- to long-term growth foundation.”
