[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] NC (NCsoftCorporation(036570)), once dubbed the “Lineage one-trick pony,” has transformed into a prolific game developer. The company is accelerating its push into the global market by unveiling about 10 new titles from the second half of this year through next year.

NC’s First-Half Results

Park Byung-moo, co-CEO of NC (xml-ph-0001@deepl.internal), stated during the Q2 2026 earnings call on the 11th, “We plan to release about 10 new games in the second half of this year and next year, including four major titles,” adding, “Starting with the launch of Aion 2 in September, we expect to release a new title almost every month.”

Starting with the global launch of *Aion 2*, the company will sequentially release major new titles such as *Horizon: Steel Frontiers*, *Cinder City*, and *Guild Wars 3*. Going forward, NC will prioritize simultaneous global launches for its upcoming games as part of its strategy to expand into overseas markets.

This shift toward a high-volume, global strategy is evident in the company’s surging second-quarter performance. NCSoft posted revenue of 770.5 billion won and operating profit of 173.9 billion won for the second quarter of this year. Revenue and operating profit rose 101% and 1,053%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Overseas Revenue Share Surpasses Domestic Share
Revenue by region breaks down as follows
:
Korea 48%, Asia 25%, and North America, Europe, and others 27%. Overseas revenue now accounts for 52% of total revenue, surpassing the domestic
share
. Revenue from the mobile casual games business segment also gained momentum, accounting for 22% of total revenue.

Anel Cheman, Executive Vice President in charge of the casual games business at NC, expressed confidence, stating, “Next year, we plan to bring in third-party games from outside our portfolio, so the casual games business segment is expected to show even greater growth.”

The company is also making changes to its global publishing strategy. All future game releases will be launched simultaneously worldwide.

CEO Park stated, “While we had previously been quite concerned about our global publishing capabilities, we’ve recruited many professionals with backgrounds in global publishing and have established a strong synergy with our headquarters,” adding, “Our global capabilities have been significantly strengthened, and we are cautiously confident in our global publishing efforts.”

The company is also strengthening its publishing strategies tailored to regional characteristics. In Southeast Asia, it will leverage its local subsidiary, NC, while in China, it will collaborate with local companies. Next year, the company plans to expand into markets with large gaming user bases, such as South America and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Horizon and Guild Wars 3: Major New IP Titles Preparing for Launch “Guild Wars
3” has entered full-scale production. While the project was in the “core development” phase—focused on developing key systems—through last year, it has now transitioned to the “mass production” phase, which involves creating large-scale content. NC expects to conduct alpha and beta tests next year.

NC views the Guild Wars franchise’s strong user base as the foundation for its success. While the community had approximately 6 million users at the time of Guild Wars 2’s launch in 2012, the Guild Wars franchise community has now grown to about 30 million users.

CEO Park emphasized, “When we announced Guild Wars 3 at Summer Game Fest, it surpassed several major titles to rank second on Steam’s user wishlist,” adding, “The Guild Wars franchise community is incredibly strong.”

He also expressed confidence in the long-term success of existing games. Lineage Classic has maintained a steady monthly active user (MAU) count even now, approximately 140 days after its launch. CEO Park said, “The development and business teams view this as just the beginning of Lineage Classic’s lifecycle,” adding, “We expect it to have a lifecycle as long as that of Lineage M.”

Aion 2 has also seen its key metrics rebound following a major update in July. Although the average revenue per user (ARPU) decreased due to lower membership and in-game item prices, the peak concurrent users (PCU) increased in July and August, and revenue rose compared to June. MAU also halted its downward trend and saw a slight increase.

The launch of Aion 2 in China has also been brought forward. Although the company initially planned to enter the Chinese market following the global launch of Aion 2, it decided on a partner earlier than expected after receiving a series of publishing proposals from local companies starting in March and April of this year.

CEO Park stated, “We place great significance on having laid the groundwork to demonstrate sustained, predictable growth going forward,” adding, “We previously mentioned a revenue target of 5 trillion won by 2030, and I believe we may be able to achieve that 2030 goal sooner than expected.”
