[Edaily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] Nongshim(004370)posted double-digit revenue growth and an operating profit increase in the 40% range in the second quarter of this year, driven by growth in its overseas operations.

Nongshim announced on the 14th that its consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year reached 956.1 billion won, a 10.2% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period rose 47.6% to 59.3 billion won.

Nongshim’s consolidated revenue for the first half of this year reached 1.8901 trillion won, a 7.3% increase year-over-year, while operating profit rose 31.7% to 126.7 billion won.

However, Nongshim’s second-quarter standalone revenue was 738.4 billion won, a 3.3% increase from the first quarter, while operating profit fell 32.0% to 32.1 billion won. This was due to rising cost pressures caused by higher prices for materials such as packaging, driven by strong exports, coupled with the impact of high exchange rates and oil prices.

A Nongshim official stated, “Despite challenging domestic market conditions, such as slowing consumption and intensifying competition, growth in exports and sales at overseas subsidiaries, along with improved profitability, drove the overall increase in performance.”
